Potassium Feldspar

POTASSIUM FELDSPAR (K-SPAR)

Potash Feldspar mineral, scientifically known as Potassium Alumina Silicate (KAlSi3O8). It is also known as K-Feldspar, orthoclase feldspar. It is mostly pink, light pink, white and pinkish-brown in color.Potash feldspar has been ceramists’ choice for ages, it has high K2O, Al2O3, and low SiO2 contents.

It has good fluxing properties. It may melt at high temperatures compared to Sodium Feldspar but after firing it results in a stronger ceramic body.Potash feldspar with high K2O contents (11.5+%) imparts a translucent glaze.Potash Feldspar is used in glass manufacturing as well. India is well-versed in the availability of Potash feldspar minerals. Rajasthan, Telangana, and Tamilnadu are major producers, while Jharkhand and West Bengal also have some deposits.

Being situated in the Rajasthan state Minnovation Group has been fortunate enough to own some of the best potash feldspar reserves.

They have one quarry of pink-brown colored ore and one quarry of white-colored ore. Both quarries have K2O contents of 12+% in their ore, which after grinding produces very high-grade feldspar for glaze uses. They contain low iron and thus impart very white glaze after firing.

We also have some other grades as well which are suitable for:

★ Vitrified tiles manufacturing
★ Glass manufacturing
★ Frit manufacturing
★ Welding Electrode manufacturing
★ Ceramic item manufacturing (body and glaze purpose in Sanitaryware, stoneware, electrical insulators) etc
★ Metallurgical uses (fluxing agent)
★ Refractory item manufacturing

Minnovation Corp has Potassium Feldspar available in lumps, grains and fine powder.
